I am wondering if you actually become a certified EMT after the city of fort worth hires you? I am asking with regards to the fire trainee mass hiring that is currently going on. I know that they train you for fire school...but do they make you an actual certified EMT as well?

Yes, you become an EMT-Basic.

Yes, they sprinkle you with pixie dust, and you magically become an EMT. No, actually, they pick you up like a piece of clay and "make you an actual certified EMT." There's really no work involved on your part.
