$5? Why are profiting off the backs of potential fire fighters? You should be ashamed of yourself! ;)

George,
I wish you could be there. I would buy your lunch!
Five dollars includes lunch for 130 participants. Plus 35 firefighters who have volunteered their time. Many flying from hundreds of miles away and paying for their own hotel.
Here's my budget to feed 165 people:
130X5=$650
320 hot dogs
320 hot dog buns
175 cans of soda
350 bottles of water
120 Oranges
80 apples
150 cookies
38 muffins
10 large bags of chips
5 20 # bags of ice
500 plates
500 napkins
10 large foil pans
4 tongs
I large tub of Granola
Trail mix and beef jerky
Hot dogs cooked on the union's bbq (donated).
So far, my wife has made one trip to Target, one to Trader Joes and 3 trips to Costco to get the best prices. She has one more to make tomorrow.
Any money left over goes to the college fire science program. Any money lacking comes out of my own pocket.

Thank You Chief Lepore and all the other Firefighters that gave thier own time to help those of us that are pursuing the dream. I would have gladly paid more to attend. I gained so much out of the experience, it is hard to put a money value to it. Again thank you to all you guys and gals that already have the Badge for taking time out of your schedules to help us canidates.
Thank You,
Ryan
