His best prank, IMHO, was when he booked a room at a hotel that had a tele-marketer conference. The calls made a 3AM were priceless "collecting donations for tele-marketers with insominia".

My late Mother was real good at nailing telemarketers before they knew what hit them. Her favorite:

TM - "Hi Mrs Woods, I'm calling to offer............"
MOM - "Quick, give me your home phone number........"
TM - "Uhhh, what.........??"
MOM - "I'm too busy to talk now, but I'll call you back tonight....."
TM - "Ma'am, I'm sorry, but I don't handle business from my home phone......"
MOM - "And just what makes you think I do??..........." BAM!! goes the phone....... :D :D :D

If I know it's a telemarketer of any sort, I usually answer the phone when they pickup with,

"911 What is your emergency?"

Then when they get scared they called an emergency line, they get the riot act about taking up valuable time of the phone operator (me! :D )
