While answering a question in a thread here the other day, I realized that my post count had gotten a bit....... well....... I really need a Hobby. But the most important thing about posting here is not what you throw out there, but what you learn from everyone else. I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has posted in the many, many discussions that I've been in, and ask if I'm the only one who has noticed that a tiny minority have been responsible for a huge number of posts. The top thirty posters account for 140,631 posts, There are a total of 770,712 posts made here, in 77,932 threads. There are a total of 166,773 members registered to post, but only 25,080 have posted at least once.

I guess my question is: When are the other 141,693 of you going to get started?? We CAN have a better exchange of Ideas and Information, but a lot of new Faces would certainly help this along. Come on in Folks, the water's Fine.:)

HUUAAAHHH!! Well done Harve.

Say. Once I get the State Dept to issue my tags, I'll be out to see you guys up in Glenn Dale. Of course I have no idea how long it will take for the tags to come in..... Being the "State Department" and all, but once I get them. :D:D

CONGRATS HARVE!

Does your wife yell at you as much as mine because of these forums?

The following scenario popped into my mind after reading through this thread...

Harve is typing away at his computer, when a newbie signs in and starts waging a personal attack against him. He responds with his usual tack and wisdom, but the newbie is adament and well armed with personal information. After a while, the webteam engages both and puts both Harve and the newbie on a temporary ban. Harve, being banned from his posting is forced to go help his wife do Honey-dos around the house.

His wife, shuts off her computer in the other room, knowing that she now has secured some time with her husband... Hmmmm...

It could happen....

Congrats Harve!!!!

Ryan (ndvfdff33) just reminded me in another thread that I just hit 3000. I was thinking alot of the same things that you were (even though I have half the posts and 1% of the wisdom that you do). I have learned countless things from these forums and I would like to thank everyone who posts on here.

And the sad thing is, I don't have time to be on the forums, but yet, somehow I always end up here.... :)

First time poster here.

Chief Woods, you have inspired me.

I have some serious questions, I just need to get all of the voices agreeing as to which ones to ask first.

Take your time, I'm sure some of them will go to sleep eventually. Then it won't be so hard to choose. :p

I second that! This place is an invaluable tool once you learn to sift through the crap thrown out there. Good contributors like yourself make the job a lot easier. :)

Congrats Harve!

I hope I didn't give the wives any ideas... I still wonder how Harve has time to go fishing? There has to be some pictures of a laptop mounted in his boat with a rod holder. WiFi on the lake?? Multi-tasking, maybe?? When I get asked about spending time on the 'net, I just say that I am waiting while Windows downloads another update. That usually works...

Unfortunately, it is also usually true... :(

Let the record show that Harve was at 3000 posts when the Kentland thread started!;)
Actually, Harv; not that long ago, I was ahead of you.
Now, I'm looking at your good side.
Way to go.
Insightful, intelligent and entertaining.
You, too, Harve.

Harve...congrats! There are some here that are worth listening too no matter what they are saying, and then there are some that are not worth listening to at all. You know when you speak, everyone listens. You just happen to wanna talk a lot!! hehehe Here's to the next 6,000!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Thank You. As I like to say when discussing our VFD's good things that happen, there is no "I" in "We". I don't do anything, WE do everything. And that's the case here. You absolutely cannot have a sane discussion with less than two people. (No, Ian, the voices don't count:D ) So, any success must be shared with the group, a group that I'm damn proud to call my Brothers and Sisters. :) :) :)
