Thank You and God Bless you all.
These are difficult times for military families, particularly in light of those who vigorously attempt to undermine our national security, and demean military service. It is worth remembering these timeless words of James Madison: "America united with a handful of troops ... exhibits a more forbidding posture to foreign ambition than America disunited, with a hundred thousand veterans ready for combat." Thank God for America's uniformed Patriots, and Veterans of our Armed Forces.
"Let us solemnly remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom, and let us re-consecrate ourselves to the task of promoting an enduring peace so that their efforts shall not have been in vain." —Dwight D. Eisenhower

This may have popped up somewhere else, but I have not seen it here...
It is the VETERAN , not the preacher,
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN , not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN , not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN , not the campus organizer,
Who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN , not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN , not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN ,
Who salutes the Flag,
It is the VETERAN ,
Who serves under the Flag,
ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.
We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.
God Bless them all!!!
Even though I am on active duty, and "been Over There" to do my bit.... I am not always convinced that we did much.....

Though my hitch stopped being an"Adventure" and became a job,I'd still go back in in a heartbeat and do it all over again.Just with different shipmates.
The thing is,no matter how bad you think your time was,you still stick it out and do what is assigned. No other option is viable.
Plus,I am amazed at how some news organizations say how poorly the military is doing, yet I do not recall any recent stories on how recruiters are having a hard time.
If things were so bad,why aren't people staying away from serving in their country's Navy,Marine Corps,Army,Air Force and/or Coast Guard?

Considering that earlier in the week, the man almost got blown up by a roadside IED:
REMEMBRANCE DAY MESSAGE
As Minister of National Defence, I have had the privilege of meeting with many of you. I find myself humbled by the bravery and the professionalism of the fine men and women who work for Canadian Forces.
In Afghanistan, you are continuing the noble role that Canada has always played in the world. You are giving hope to millions of people in need of assistance. You are acting as a cause for good in an unstable world. This is also true of Canadian Forces members who are deployed under Operation ALTAIR and Operation SEXTANT; our sailors, soldiers, airmen and airwomen who are stationed around the world; and the personnel who are protecting North America.
Like generations before you, many of you have left your homes in Canada to confront an extremist ideology on foreign soil. Many of you have risked your lives to defend Canada and Canadian values. Without doubt, your sacrifices are building a better world.
Now, more than ever, I appreciate Canada’s very proud tradition of military accomplishments. As communities across Canada think and pray of the sacrifices that brave men and women have made on their behalf this weekend, they will also pause to think and pray for you.
Canada will forever remember those Canadians who fought in past conflicts and those Canadians who served the cause of peace.
To all soldiers, past and present, thank you.
Lest we forget.
Peter G. MacKay
Minister of National Defence
