Carbondale FD

Does anyone on this forum work for or have information about the fire department in Carbondale? I believe they continually accept applications and have been to their website but I am interested in finding out more information about their department and hiring process.

Carbondale fire tests twice a year now. January and July I believe. The way they work is applications are excepted usually like a month or two before the test date (watch the City website). Once the written test is passed you take the physical test (same day). After passing both tests, you will have a first interview with the Police and Fire board (3 members I think). Then you are placed on the eligibility list for two yrs. When they decide to hire they will call in a handfull (usually 4-6) off of the list for a second interview (which will be with dept and city brass).

They should be getting ready to accept applications if they aren't already for the January test.

ya needed to edit some more spelling or maybe just gramar LOL

other than that my superior is correct....except he forgot to mention you have to love to run ALOT of automatic alarms (cooking smoke bring a fan up)
