I have a sad message to pass along this evening. I was informed today, that Lt. Scott Mumm, of the Mendota Fire Department passed away following a fire last evening. Below is the department press release and arrangements.
RIP Brother Mumm!
POC Lt. Scott Mumm, 34 years old, a member of the Mendota Fire Department died shortly after arrival at Mendota Community Hospital on Monday night around 10:45 p.m. Scott had returned home around 8:15 p.m. from a fire call where his assignment was assisting with filling water tenders. He had gone home and then to bed with intentions of reporting for work, at his regular job at midnight. When his wife tried to wake him, he did not respond. ALS efforts by members of the Mendota Fire Department and the ER staff at Mendota Community Hospital were unsuccessful.
Scott is survived by his wife Melissa, daughter Morgan 12, son Brett 7, and daughter Abby 6. Also his parents Alan and Patty, brothers Greg and Nick.

Visitation: Thursday, November 1, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Fire Department Walk Through at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral: Friday, November 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.
At First United Methodist Church
100 E 6th Street
Mendota, IL 61342
A Fire Department Funeral will be held to honor Scott. Fire Department Personnel and Vehicles will be Staged near the church
