View Full Version : Any relationship between SCBA email and potential grant success?

We received the SCBA email from DHS last week like many other departments. As of yet we have not received our 1199a or 10?s. I am wondering if anyone knows if there is any correlation between receiving the email and our as-of-yet-announced success? I know this is probably just hopeful thinking but I am looking for any glimmer of hope.
What I know for sure at this point is that we made it passed the computer and that DHS knows we are asking for SCBA. Everything else beyond that point is pure conjecture...Or is it?
Can anyone add to this one way or the other?
Then I read in another thread that AFG had another 1200 grants peer reviewed last week. Where does this factor in to the future of grant announcements?
I appreciate any and all help trying to figure all this stuff out.

I am just like you we made it past the computer and in to peer review and have not heard of another thing since. Still playing the waiting game. I hope that the 1200 reviewed last week has very good out comes. We also have scba in our grant.

As much as I'd like to think the e-mail would favorably show a light at the end of the tunnel, DHS simply was able to select anyone who added SCBA to their grant application and send them an e-mail through the mail center. Everyone who selected SCBA should have gotten the e-mail, with the exception of Regional SCBA applicants, because the software was not capable of automating an e-mail from the regional apps.

Just as a point of information. The 1200 peer reviews were done the week of 9/3. I was in a class at NFA last week and was told the reviewers had been there the previous week.

We did not ask for SCBA'a and we recvd the email.
I would guess they sent it to everyone not yet rejected

Interesting. I didn't have anyone that didn't apply for SCBA get the email. Oh well, better to have more get it than not enough. :)

We applied for turnouts, have gotten the 1199, but no email about SCBA, wel also have a regional for TICS, and no email about SCBA.
I suspect if anyone that asked for something other than SCBA got one it was simply an error.

You didn't have an '06 grant with SCBA, did you? I got the email and assumed it was due to my '06 award for PPE and SCBA.

What about a department that applied for SCBA and didn't get the email? No DJ or 1199a either. I helped a mutual aid department in my area that's in this situation.

Your right; those departments who had 06 SCBA awrads (includinghte late round awards of recent news) could be affected by this so they got the email also.;)
