Does anyone have information about this company? They are hiring firefighters for an aircraft manufacturing facility in my area, and I'm thinking about working for them. I have seen thier website, and I can't find anything negative about them on net. However, I would like to hear from others who have worked for them recently.

I'm not really sure. I think it's an aircraft manufacturing plant. I'll find out more Tuesday at 1000.

Hi
I used to work for Pinkerton in Anaheim, CA at the Boeing plant. Not bad if its your first job as a firefighter. Some Pinkerton jobs will require security duties as well. Others are 100% fire. Guys I worked with were awesome, but it is for sure a stepping stone job. I just recieved a call from a Pinkerton recruiter and statrting pay in CA is $11.74 an hour. They all do 8 or 12 shifts, no 24's.
I hope this helps,
Kev

11.25 per hour? That's what our dog-catchers make! Anyhow, I liked what they had to say, and it seems they're getting more contracts in the area.
The problem is I'm not looking for a stepping stone. Thanks Kev.

Please let me know how it is going at Pinkerton. I might take a part time spot at Northrop Grumman in El Segundo, CA. Its 12 and 24 hour positions and sounds like a good way for some extra experience.
Take care,
Kev

I wish I COULD let you know. The interview went well, but with the pay, there's no way I could take the cut. I did agree to work part-time for them and see how things develop. They were supposed to call the second week of October. Still havn't heard from them. The pay was going to be $13.50/hr, 12 hour shifts and NO night shifts (at least not yet).

Part time will be nice. It allows you to keep your current job. The job at Northrop Grumman is also 12 hour shifts. But they have it set up so the are back to back and even have beds to sleep in at night. It will be a part time tning as well. Talking to the Captain who called me, it sounds like Pinkerton is leaving and a new contract will be coming in. They currently man a type 1 engine with four people.

Are Pinkerton's fire services only on the west coast, or do they have contracts on the east coast as well?

I worked for Pinkerton in 1999 while living in Ct. They had security and fire contracts at Pfizer Central Research. The "Headquarters" campus was just moving from Groton to the beautiful newly constructed facility in New London when I left. I'm not sure who has the contract now. I believe the hiring was done through the East Hartford Office.

I work for them as a inspector and they are pretty good company to work for. They are good stepping stone to better, if your not looking to improve they are good, pays not high but better than some others, pretty good insurance benefits too they are with AETNA. Chief Brakebill is good guy and easy to get along with.
