I am wondering how many other departments are wearing steel toed station boots. We have a fire/ems running at our department. Of course out turnout boots have the protection. But, we do urban interface and EMS runs. We are packing around these heavy ass boots that are a fatigue factor. I came from a forest fire background where we never used steel toes. I can't understand why we can't get rid of them for station wear. 1 extra pound on your feet is like 10 on your back. What are you guys wearing?
