Applications are currently being accepted to establish an eligibility list to fill vacancies in 2008.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Associate Degree in Fire Science by May 31, 2008.
Current certification as a Fire Fighter II by the State of Wisconsin or an IFSAC accredited agency.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
CPAT Certification in 2007 required by December 31, 2007.

Salary/Fringe Benefits (2006 Rates):
Step 1 Start 58% of base salary $1,133.08 bi-weekly
Step 2 After 1 year 72% of base salary $1,406.58 bi-weekly
Step 3 After 2 years 86% of base salary $1,680.08 bi-weekly
Step 4 After 3 years Base salary $1,953.58 bi-weekly

Recruitment Schedule: The recruitment process has been scheduled as follows (please note this schedule is subject to change).
Written Test: Monday, October 15, 2007
Initial Interview with Fire Department Panel: Early November Final interviews with Police and Fire Commission: Late November
Final pool of candidates established, background
investigations conducted on top candidates: December 2007-February 2008
The City reserves the right to invite only the most qualified candidates to participate in testing and interviews. Please make sure that all application materials are completely filled out and accurate.
Residency requirement: Residency is required within the Green Bay city limits within 12 months of hire.
