Is it just me or does it seem like they have slowed down a bit on the 1199's? I did not find any DJ's yet for both apps. Hope we are still in the hunt! Wish everyone the best of luck.

Hey - I submiited electronically - but I don't see an option to print the 1199a so I can take it to the bank and get it signed. I was awarded last year - do I have to print and get it signed every year?

If the info is the same as last year, no changes, then you are all set. The AFG will use the info on file.
The print option does not show up until after the award.

$39,030.00 for 15 sets of TOG.
Nothing fancy - we may get a reduction on
helmets from 225 to 200, and I have not seen what the
limits are for jumpsuits/coveralls, but everything else we
should be good on.

Was the Tuesday posting of 1199a's small? I did not hear much chatter in the forum so I can only assume it was another small post. Anyone care to venture a guess when DHS will open the gates and let some larger announcements roll out? They have a lot of money left to distribute and 3X the number of rounds already announced still ahead.
Patience may be a virtue but it isn't any FUN!

A lot. When you write nearly 500 this happens. :D And that's without the seminar folks added in, 300 of those just from Jan/Feb 2007. Who knows how many I'll add to both totals with my schedule for the rest of this year. I think Bristol TN is near the end of the 1st week of December, making another AL/GA/TN go-round if you want to swing in. Like the rest of them, no charge to get in.

So I may not be hitting the enter button until April but I have a feeling I'll be working on projects long before that.

If there are no changes to the 1199A, you do not have to do anything. Once the award has been made, you can make funding requests with the current 1199A.
If there are changes, they can't be done until after the award. At that point you contact the AFG and inform them of changes to be made. They will release the 1199A to make changes (there is a time limit to do this), print out and send in.

Schuamburg is probably closer to Earl than I. Although I'm up for a little road trip. Strap the car seat on the back of the bike and I'm there...right Earl ;)
Good luck on the puddle jump and enjoy the wedding!
Congrats fire41108! Now comes all the real work
Earl, I'll second that motion! That is some of the best pasta I have ever eaten!!! All because we read a billboard....and tell Sue that if you don't want to go then I'd be happy to accompany her :D

Well Brian, looks like I'll see you in Indy on the 30th. I called and signed up today. Going to try and bring a few more from around here but don't know if anyone else will go.

Sounds like a plan.
Found fine eats here in Orlando last night, Tommy Bahamas is mighty proud of everything they serve. Great food though, nice crab bisque, rack of ribs that went end to end on the platter style plate. Key Lime pie hit the spot too. Hence the reason I didn't eat too much at breakfast this morning.
Which y'all missed, two of the top grant minds in the country were at the same breakfast table.... ;)

Bumping this one back up to the top...
Seems like we've hit another slump for 1199s for DHS to get a chance to catch up. They've probably got enough right now to pump out quite a few rounds.
Interesting to me is that only a few SAFER 1199s seemed to leak out a week or so ago. Wonder why so few? We do know that SAFER doesn't have nearly the amount of awards that AFG does, especially with the size of some of them for hiring.
Don't forget, still got FP&S to go. Fingernails are about gone here.
Wonder if we'll see any Trifectas or even SUPERFECTAS this year? Already got a few Quinellas out there. Did any of our Double award winners go for SAFER and FP&S too?
Good luck to all those still in the running! :)

More 1199As were posted today on main AFG, don't know about SAFER.
SAFER takes more admin work on their end to get things rolling with each award, so that's why they release so few at a time, especially since AFG is still moving.
Almost had a hat trick but that got stopped today. Lots of doubles funded, good pile still in the game. So few go for all, I wouldn't doubt we see a few funded for 3-4 2007 awards across all 3 programs. Can't win if you don't play. :)

If the need is there and they're handing out money, might as well put your hat in the ring. :) It's the program's job to level the field and decide who gets funded. The more apps submitted the more demonstrated need for more funding.
No greed here besides, I have a few folks I told we had little chance since we funded all the high priority stuff already. Still want to submit an app, but low priority needs are a slim chance. Most are happy after the PPE, SCBA, and TICs are taken care of. I had 30+ that didn't apply after winning in 2006, they just didn't want to go for 2 years in a row. The rest all have many, many needs.
