Anyone been officially notified that you have been denied yet? (I'm not talking about from your wife) If not when is the anticipated burial date for 2007 grant requests that didn't make the grade?

Dear Johns:

In 2006 the first round of DJs ( for those that were thrown out by computer) came out between round 4 and round 5. on November 14, so look for the non-competitive DJs to land sometime on about August 22, if they hold true to form.

OK so that should answer a lot of questions for a lot of people. I will update this from time to time and others can do so at any time as they see fit. Good luck to all of those still waiting but, keep the faith!;)

This should help with your use of antacids and other pharmaceuticals for a while.

Just got our DJ today for a brush truck at 4:49 p.m. EST thats one down crossing everything that will cross on the other one.

Got a DJ for our vehicle app today. We were trying for a replacement chassis for a brush truck. Well there is always next year.

Well my pattern di not pan out as I found severl Ds for Ops and Safety only so it looks like this was the full monte on computer rejections. Anyone surviving tonight without a DJ notice probably made it through to peer review.:)

Guys I, and I am sure Brian also, have many seminars scheduled, time to get in with us and figure out what went wrong.;)

We got ours too. Went for a tanker and got DJ by the computer for the 4th year ina row. This is why my department is hosting Kurt in Montgomery IN. Hoping to be 1-4 this time next year!!!!!!!!!!! Anybody needing any info on this seminar get ahold of Kurt or myself and we can get you all the info you need.

I've been to the seminars, in 2002 I wrote the grant that got us $265K for operations and safety (we went to LDH and replaced all of our SCBA units).

I have written over $500K in successful grants for my FD.

Captgonzo, mea culpa! I did not mean that to be personal or imply that you had not been successful;I just thought your jingle was quite catchy and was playing off it. No offense intended and congratulations.I knew from your previosu posts from past years that you have had great success.;)

well...let me join the group with the dj letters......grant for vehicle (brush truck) did not make it pass first round.....not sure why the computer kicked it out...........

crossing my fingers on the PPE equipment...

Got our Dear John: a week ago for a station generator and a bunker gear washer/extractor.

Given the timing, does anyone know if we even made it through the initial computer grading or just got blown away very early on in the peer review?

It could be worse - I'm still trying to finish spending last years AFG & SAFER grants.

I think he just found it yesterday. I would find it hard to beleive that any other DJs have been released nor are they going to be released so closely together.:rolleyes:

That is a well kept secret, only the AFG knows.

The two program areas are scored seperately. Getting a DJ for the vehicle does not mean your PPE application will be rejected by the computer. Just the opposite, the computer DJ's have already gone out; means your PPE application went to Peer Review.

Got our DJ on veh app back on 8/16 It wasn't a suprise tho - went for a new light rescue truck and made a last minute half-a$$ed effort to throw it together. We're still happy that we got our 1199 and 10 qs for SCBAs. Would have responded sooner but have been busy building our back up 911 center.....My condolences to those who didn't make it this year...

Ok, so I am waiting anxiously for the call or DJ! I applied for a tanker and my current tanker will be coming out of service......soon. so while I have not heard anything yet....could be real good???? or really bad!

Anyone know when the next round of DJ's will go out? Or are there any other signs I could look for?
