Good Day Folks,
I was approached this weekend to assist in writing a grant for NEXT year to aquire a brush truck. This is a very small department but they are go getters.
My question is what does NFPA or APG consider requirements for a brush truck? I am looking at a 1 ton truck size.
Also for you experts out there, do you prefer the flat bed or pickup bed body styles?
One more thing just for my curiosity. what the heck is the difference between the Wldland Interface pumper versus a regular everyday pumper?

Don't rely on this, but from what I'm seeing the difference between an interfac vs. pumper is the length and maneuverability. They also have a smaller pump (500-1000gpm). Plus it's on a 4x4 chassis. At least that's what I'm seeing on the various mfg. websites.

As far as flatbed vs. pickup bed, I like the flatbed. It's a bit more rugged to abuse and brush. You can also put some boxes on it to store things you want out of the weather. At the same time, you don't have to reach over the side of the bed to reach things.

I've got a "rapid attack" narrative I'd be willing to share with you. It's not so much a brush truck like you're describing, but if it'll help you're welcome to it.

Catch on the interface thing that is what I was thinking but around here we are not as apt to get the "big one" so we rely on the little trucks more.
as for the rapid attack narrative I would be glad to read it. Every bit of information goes a long way.
Thanks.
