Round 3 has been posted. Small round only one hundred sixty something listed.
Alabama is still the leader with over 75 awards.
How do they do it? They are smokin every other state

Does the state help them write the grants? Not complaining, just curious!

Boy, I hope they pick things up, What a small round of award winners. Only 865 awards so far this year; they have along way to go and if they intend to keep on schedule for having them out by October they are going to have to kick it into high gear. We should see alot of 1199a updates occurring soon.Alabama has doen exceptionally well the last three years and contnues to do so.; I have had my share of clients winning there but I am by no means the only one workingt hose departments;)

Congratulations to all of you that are on the list today. We're still waiting patiently for action. Seems like penn. is doing extremely well this year. Must be all those who attended the Alum Bank seminar!

Were just that far behind the times :p

Seriously I dont know why AL is in the lead, but for 2006 and 2007 both we got awarded a tanker we requested so 2 new trucks on the way! these 2 will replace 3 really old non compliant saftey hazards we currently use. We applied 3 years in a row for a tanker with no luck and now 2 back to back. I'm still hopefull for our equipment grant to go through, but no news so far, but not complaining due to trucks.

Back to back years for the same kind of truck? That must be some kind of record...

Yeah I was a bit shocked by it as well. We have 2 pumpers in decent shape, although they are mid-80's models and no where near compliant with todays NFPA standards. Our tankers we are replacing are makeshift and not reliable and are total safety hazards. Also our severe lack of water supply in our area plays a big part in it so tankers are a must. Most of our water supply is drafted from the river as the few hydrants we have flow in the 300gpm range. I didnt write our grant, but I am pretty sure this was all factored in.
