OK, so as I'm workin on my SAFER narrative, I come to realize a bit of an issue. Just this last Tuesday our little vollie FD that's always been based on memberships was turned into a tax-based fire district by our community.
While this is great for us, I'm coming across some issues. We don't become "official" until a judge signs the order next week. So, from there I have to get a FEIN and DUNS #. Then I have to wait to find out what our budget it, etc. We don't even have a bank account, and I'm not sure when we'll get one!
Anyone with experience how long this will take? Any advice?
This really kinds of gets screwy with the apparatus grant I just got awarded and a pending air trailer. I figure they're easier dealt with by calling someone with the program. The SAFER thing is getting me antsy though.
