You are oging to find that three things have to happen beofre you will be able to play inthe grnats ballgame effectively:

1.) You must be a recongnized fire department by your state
2.) You have to have a first due area assigned
3.) YOu have ot be answring calls in order to prove that you have need

Welcome to the forums, there are many here with good sound advice to help you out but, don't put the cart before the horse. If you want to position yourself to take maximum advantage, set yourself up as a 501c3 non-profit and deal with 1-3 above. Get in touch with bc79er or myself and we can start helping to guide you through the mazes.;)

I would try and get ahold of these guys. http://www.fireaidusa.org/ They have the experience helping departments in need and probably with start up. Talk to Mark Warnick if possible.
