The one that the course you take requires you to use.
The most common text in use is the AAOS book, "Care and transportation of the sick and injured." Get the newest edition, which is the 9th.
Should be able to get it online or at any college bookstore that has an EMT program.
Good luck.

Devil,
Another EMT book you may want to look into is Emergency Care 10th edition. I am an author of that book and would be happy to answer any questions you have. There are a wide variety of other books of different levels out there. First Responder books may be of interest if you aren't ready to jump into EMT.

Brady books (maybe listed under Penhall publishing) also puts out an EMT-Basic book. Again you may want to check the bookstore at the school where you want to take your class... All these books are expensive and I'd hate to see you pay for one and then turn around and have to buy another.

Most publishers today have some sort of online offering with their books.
Brady calls them companion web sites. You can get to many of mine at:

Enjoy. Thanks for mentioning these.

my pleasure! been viewing this site for quite some time. mostly just sat in the background not getting involved. lots of good people, great advice. take advantage of all the knowledge and experience here. figured time for me to put my 1 cent in.
anyways, just dawned on me, here is a great site to go to. don't remember where i came up with it. great site for review/refresher. keep a step ahead of the class. some of these were even shown the paramedic class i took.
