LAFD questions?

What's a good way to get some specific info. on the LAFD. Everytime I go to the "joinlafd" website it's always under construction. I would like info on how a Firefighter/Paramedic fits into the mix of things and how a FF/PM is utilized within the dept., carrer path, etc. Any advice would help on where to go. I called on got a woman from personnel not a FD recruiter, she really could'nt answer any of my questions other than qualifications, salery and that sort of thing.

I'd check out http://www.firecareers.com/forum.cfm and click on "open forum". It's more of a West Coast website than this one. There's a bunch of posts on LAFD, too.

go and visit an LAFD fire station and talk to a medic. You can also talk to a rookie and ask about the tower and probation.
