Another thread, LDH hose reels, got me thinking about our mutual aid partners and their 10" diameter hose they use an large tank fires. Does anybody else use these, and if so could you point me towards a supplier company?

10".....wow I haven't heard of them getting that big, the biggest I have heard is 7 1/4". Who is your MA companies using that? Makes sense though, big tank=big water. We have 5" , so I wouldn't know where to look. Check with Williams and the other "Big Boys" to see what they use. Let us know what they say.

We use Williams as the specialist on tank fires, but one of our mutual aid refineries uses the 10". I just thought I'd ask on here to see what else is out there.

The State of NJ has 12" hose on reels. I believe the whole system is Kidde, part of the Neptune system.

Hytrans manufacture the Hydrosub series of high-capacity pumps + related products such as hose layers, hose recovery units, hose and couplings... they use hose diameters up to 12". Check it out.

As some have said above the NJ Div of Fire Safety has 1.5 miles of 12" hose and a 8,000 gpm pump with foam, below is a link of a video of the system in action

Broward Fire Rescue also is implimenting using 12" hose in conjunction with two portable pumps capable of pumping 8,000 GPM + in Port Everglades which is a large tank storage port. They are Kidde systems.
