I've discovered a school that is opening a new "EMS program". Currently plans are to start an EMT-B class in August, which will run for 20 weeks, then transition to Paramedic class in January. I was told that they would consider starting a paramedic class in August if there was enough demand. This program is brand new. Brand new equipment, experienced instructors from other schools in the area, and the "institute" is established in the area, only the EMS program is a new addition to this campus.

What I need is some responses to show them there is enough interest to start a medic class in August this year. I am ready to start right now, but have found nothing available until next year. The institute is in Mulberry, Florida which is in western Polk County, just outside Eastern Hillsborough County line, near Highway 60.

Please reply or PM if you are interested in Medic or EMT.

I live clear across the country so I can't help you with bumping up the potential enrollees but I do have a question.

How is it possible for school to simply "start" a new paramedic class with a month's notice? Doesn't some gov. or professional body have to approve their instructors and/or their facilities?

I'm an EMT student as well as a Respiratory Therapy student, in order for a school to start an RT program, they have to be inspected and certified by the national accreditation board, isn't there something similiar to this for paramedic school?

If there isn't, shouldn't there be?

Did I suggest in my message that they decided today to "start" a class in August? If so, I must not have made myself clear.
