Well just figured with about a month left I would try and find out everyone from here that is going to be in Houston Aug 6th. I will hope to hear from more.

Just got my packet via FedEx today. According to the letter I am to report to Houston on August the 6th. So looks like I'll be there with you brother. can't wait.

Well, chabge of plans, looks like I will be leaving August the 13th. Unfortunalty I won't be able to get my physical done till July 16th and the paperwork had to be turned in the 13th of July. On the bright side, that should put me home for Christmas.

That is too bad! I got my physical done already, just waiting for the bloodwork to come back and that passport to come, which my congressman said will be coming around the 7 or 8th.

I have been following the threads, sounds like we will have a good time. Also, thanks all...I have pulled out 90% of what I had packed. All I have left is a laptop and lots of socks. If I read the posts right I should be cool. By the way I ship out on the 13th, to Houston.

what are you guys gonna wear on the plane ride over? i was thinking a poloshirt and jeans. don't want to look like a tourist or a contractor, somwhere in-between i suppose

I would not wear blue jeans and a polo your flight is around 18 hours. I would think about the long flight in a cramped air plane sitting for 8 hours at a time. No worries though you will find out...

no matter what you wear, your going to look like a US contractor once you hit Dubai, everyone around knows who u are, and why you are there.

All you guys coming in for the first time need to understand that all the stuff you bring in you will have to carry around. Also in country there is a weight limit of what you can bring. The rest you will have to mail and hope it makes it to your site in a timely manner.LOL I will also be coming back the week of the 6th, so if anyone needs any info contact me at Texasarff@yahoo.com . This will be my second year and there is alot of info and questions not always given . The main thing is that do not bring everything on that list. You can get it in Houston or Camp Victory. Good luck and let me know if I can help. I am also from Houston so plan on a trip to the Firehouse Saloon for a good time.

not a problem, i've been to australia twice. just didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb. still think that's what i'll wear tho. just a thought
