Well guys really thinking hard about firefighting overseas for 2 years they sent out my packet today so going through all processing you know how that is but really thinking hard about it talked to chris today from wakenhut and got all my certs ready so got alot to talk to about with my wife! Being a full time firefighter 14 years im 35 and in great shape lot of expierience but going and leaving my wife and new 9 month old boty would be tough every 3 months coming home for 10 days would be hard but him being young i could sweat 24 months and make some real good money so alt of questions and talking to do but i believe it would be a great thing to help the amerian soldiers over there i have 10 years and ill have my 25 in so alot to think about but i want to do it though !!! We firefighters here on the mississippi gulf coast have seen alot and went through a bunch of ****!! but we keep moving forward and didnt give up,so good luck everyone and any suggestions or questions i would appreciate it

if u have 14 years with the same dept, and have 14 years of retirement and seniority built up, i wouldn't throw that away for a year or two of more money. now if u can come back and keep your retirement and seniority going then go for it. but i wouldn't just skip out on 14 years with the same dept, if that is what you have, for 2 years in the suck.
