EMT training-Pasadena City College

Good Morning,

Newbie poster. I've enrolled at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, CA and planning to take their EMT training class this summer.

Anyone have any practical advice or comments about their program?

I looked into the UCLA accelerated program and I just couldn't make the schedule work.

Practical advice in general... Learn early if it is for you and don't BS your way through it. We had a girl who did that up until a few weeks before the class was over and she was kicked out because the instructors let her slide with too much. Make sure you are serious about it, studying, etc. I can tell you what worked for me but may not work for you. Study as a class and you will all 'be on the same page", ask questions because your instuctors will/should have good answers and probably a few stories to share about the topic and get help early on with tutoring/skills/whatever. Have fun with it when its appropriate, I know my class did (putting in NPAs, making Kerlix dummies of each other, clearing everybody out of I.H.O.P restaurant with our conversations, etc) Good luck to you!
