Just wondering how other groups are preparing for the new issue of ethanol in our gasoline, on our roadways, and in our storage areas.
There are lots of issues in front of us:
* Lack of adequate placarding for transportation / there is no current distinction between gasoline containing ethanol and gasoline bot containing it / no placard for 90% ethanol / no placard for E-85
* Who all has alcohol resistant AFFF or FFFP foam currently......planning on making a change yet?
* Application techniques ....... plunging is BAD....we can get away with it on straight hydrocarbon pools, but the ethanol makes the foam innefctive on plunging applications........even on over the top type III application on storage tanks......so we MUST bank or float the foam over the surface. Is this your normal method without fail?
We need to prepare for the issues that are already coming up aound us.
