I was wondering if there were any depts (full-time) hiring? FF1 & 2, EMT, Instructor for Fire and EMS-pushing 40...any chances anywhere?

FIREFIGHTER



The City of Leavenworth is looking for a few good men/women. Firefighting is the protection of life and property by combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires. An individual in this class performs specialized firefighting and rescue duties under emergency conditions frequently involving considerable physical danger. Work is performed under the direct supervision of superior officers but requires thorough individual understanding of firefighting and rescue methods. The individual is also responsible for assisting in maintenance of fire equipment, apparatus, and quarters. General duty firefighting and rescue work is on a regular 24 hour shift. Minimum qualifications: Graduation from HS or equivalent, be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment, obtain a Class “B” driver’s license within 90 days of appointment, Firefighter I and II certification and EMT-B or Paramedic certification at time of application, ability to pass physical agility test (CPAT certification accepted in lieu of physical agility test), written examination, oral interview, post offer physical examinations, successfully attain department certified Relief Driver status within 18 months of hire date, and comply with the City’s residency requirements. YEARLY SALARY: $30, 504 plus excellent fringe benefits.

The City of Jefferson will be taking application for FF until June 27th. Applications can be downloaded at www.jeffcitymo.org Go to the HR Department link and you'll be able to download an application. Testing will be in late July early August.
