After that, I'll be playing my snare w/the pipers.

Playing with Pipes & Drums at the Union Hall Party on Fri.

12 years this Friday. Seems like yesterday.

This will be the 1st year I will not be there, and I'm sick about it. I work tomorrow and Saturday, and wife is out of town due to her mom having surgery. I talked to Lt. Mark Yesterday. Sounds like things are still scewy there.

My brother works for Central Illinois Trucking as a sales rep and has free tickets to the exhibits....hoping to at least go to the show at the Dome on Fri.

I believe Ted's mom asked for a solo piper this time, so I think the above mentioned "Ryan" will be covering the piping duties.

I missed you again during Mardi Gras.....man was it cold!!!


I was actually on duty. You guys couldve stopped by and warmed up! We caught one run down there. Medic unit waved us off as quick as we got there. Things must have been crazy if all the reserve companies and the 11's to be tied up to call us. Ya it was cold...we didnt get flashed once! We even had beads on hand! :D

I plan on giving Honey a call tomorrow. Havent talked to her since last year. Irononically, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation "Everyone Goes Home" Whistle Stop Tour will be here on Friday. So, in spirit, I will be up there with you guys.

Even though I left that cesspool, I think about Ted, and my Brothers at HFD often. I did my best to try to make it a better place. The Mark w/the shiny new red hat was filling me in on the latest. Even though I probably would have made the last batch of promotions, what he told me confirmed I didnt make a mistake by leaving....

I miss alot those guys. I will miss them more on Friday. :(
