Hey everyone,
I am curious how big of an impact past job history makes during the hiring process. When I was 17 I was working a seasonal Parks and Rec job, and I left two weeks early for vacation before the season was over. In retrospect, it was a bad decision. I worked there for three seasons, and the director will not re-hire me, but my supervisor and leadmen all give very, very good references. I'm sure I will have to explain this, but will it take me out of the hiring process??

I seriously doubt it, lots of kids at that age get fired or are not rehired. I'm sure there are plenty of FF out there who have been fired from a job at some point. I bet it won't even come up in an interview.

I wouldn't expect it to have a major impact on your application process. If your driving record is clean and you are felony free, you should be fine. Provide good references of your moral character, such as pastor, council person, coach. You'll do fine.
Good luck.

Thanks, guys. I was just double checking, it was kind of a weird situation, and I've got other good references as mentioned above.
