I don’t know if I am the one to blame, maybe the web team found the thread on their own, but I reported Kamono’s posts to the web team.

Two points that bothered me:

1. (The real reason) As a board member on my fire department I am acutely aware of our reputation and reading that drivel set me off. Gossip, even that self serving mess, effects public views and I didn’t think Kensington FD should have to concern itself with gossip on an international forum. Maybe I overreacted.

2. (Only because he was annoying and inarticulate ) All of you handle the situation better than I would have, and I wasn’t speaking for you, but I thought I would speak up in defense of you.

Really, accusing you Deputy of cheating the casinos and hiring illegal labor to work on the station house, with pictures! “That’s not right!” :)

Assuming I pointed the web team to the thread, I guess they agreed we me.

No doubt about it, you take Kamodo less serious than I do. And when it comes to derogatory comments made directly about a person I suspect that your attitude is the better one. Ah well…..I’m trying to get a better sense of humor.

I can’t take the comments about the FD as philosophically though. I’ve been through the PR campaigns to reverse public outcry over nonsense like this and it’s no fun. And you never really fully recover either because there’s always a righteously indignant citizen that’s going to get to the bottom of the cover up. No matter how long it takes. Or even if there’s any evidence (that just means the towns helping us cover up!:D ).

with the chief and what i said to the capt on AOL IM got mis read and
got me out because i said outside of the station on AOL IM with the
capt. As far as where i live, i don't volly because i live in a urban
city. All i said was that i saw him at one time throw 3 new members
who weren't certifed at the time into a burning house fire and went
inside

Yea i signed my own denial slip here in Connecticut. Yea i know I
pissed a lot of people and that's only because i wanted to air my
dirty laundry about someone that pissed me and now someone wanted to

Second, are you sure it's the Teamsters and not the IAM Machinists Union. Just asking because Sikorsky does manufacture Acft parts and as an employee of another UTC company the majority of us are in the Machinists Union.

member of the Sikorsky Aircraft Co in Stratford, CT. My fathers is a
member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union Local 1150
and they are one hell of a kick ass group. At least my father get's
paid more than any FF in the state and can afford the latest BMW. I
am a son of a Teamster member. So what kind of car you union pay is
getting you these days.

For me, when someone wants to start a piss match with me, it's like
getting into a BAR room fight and i don't stop until either the beer
runs out or someone get's hurt physically, mentally and emotionally.

What's his house worth? What does it all mean? NOTHING!!!! I doubt your daddy matches my income working a teamster job! It means some people manage their money better than others. It means some people spend their money on BMW's rather than a million dollar house. I happen to spend my money on both. But then again I also have two careers. Why? Because the schedule my union negotiated for me allows for a lot of time off. I only work 3 day shifts out of twelve. But still get 42 hours a week in. Sounds like a good career choice to me. How many days a week does daddy drive to work?

So your reputation will follow you wether you like it or not. As far as the bill paying thing - you're a volly so it doesn't apply.

One more thing and I'll be done. You have had problems with two very reputable fire depts. I can't speak for Newington but I can speak for Kensington. They are very professional! They, Berlin, SK, E Berlin are in my opinion one of the best volunteer fire depts around. They are very well trained, led by excellent officers, have great equipment and have realy good attitudes! These guys are on top of their game. They know the job and know it well! Are they perfect? No! No-one is! But they are sure close. I was never a member but I did live in town for a few years. I have a lot of friends over there even some of the scabs. So if these two excellent orginizations have a problem with you, then maybe just maybe it's you.

Your issue with Newington is they declined to accept you because you don't have a car and they were worried how you'd make calls. Like I have said before as a young member in the fire service I have learned already that this is one of the tightest families you can ever be involved in. I have been around the fire service since I was in diapers because I have had numerous family members that were in departments. If someone gets sick or needs something you can always count on your brothers or sisters to help you and your family out.
You went about your whole issue completely wrong and getting into a pissing match with well established FF's in the state of CT that probably have connections all across the state was not a smart move on your part. If you ever wanted to get into a different department you can prob forget about it now. And the final things I have to say are to start acting your age! Telling someone to go F them self or that your going to be them up is very immature. Lastly No one ever said they use forums as a reference check or background check. I know all departments run a real background check and a lot of towns actually check references.
I'm done biting my tounge you screwed up got the boot accept it. Move on to a different field Firefighting is not for everyone!
