5 year old firefighter

My son is a fire fighter fanatic he's 5 and knows ladder 49 by heart...He says that fireman are super heros like batman ! We visite fire station arond Montreal,qc and they started giving him there patchs so i would like to know how i could get some from the USA ? I know theres a lot of demand like mine but i dont realy know what else to do...thanks

Most people are leery about giving their patches to people who they dont know. Your best bet would be to google it perhaps, I know that there are people out there that sell patches. FDNY fire zone I believe has New York City patches.

There are some reasons why you may be receiving no replys to your message.

1. Fire Department patches are very expensiveto manufacture.

2. As a result, many organizations limit the number they issue out to their personnel to the number of uniforms they are required to maintain- for example, I received 8 patches last year. (2) for my 2 short sleeve uniform shirts. (2) For my 2 long sleeve uniform shirts. (1) for my 1 jobshirt (work sweatshirt) (1) for my dress uniform. (1) for my heavy winter work jacket, and (1) for my light jacket. If I wanted any more, I had to purchase them, at $3.50 each. As you can hopefully understand, stocks of patches in Fire Departments are usually tightly controlled due to cost.

3. If I gave a patch to each and every request that has come my way, I would go broke in 4 months. My organization will only give patches to other recognized Fire Departments, when a request is received on their letterhead, and we receive one in return.

4. Many, many times, persons have come on here, pretending to "solicit" patches in the name of their child. "My sick child...." Blah Blah Blah......"My Child has this cancer, or that cancer, would love to be a fireman,....." Not to sound cold-hearted, but many of these allegations are quickly proven to be false- more often than not they are just adult patch collectors looking to boost their collections.

I myself USED to be a patch collector. I got out of it because of all the whining, crying, and back-stabbing that took place.

I understand it's true i know a guy that does it here in Montreal the FD give him patches and he sell them at shows ... It's easyer here because my son is knowen in Montreal hes on 3 french web sites. But i try in the US but my english is not good at all and dont know where to look but thank you for yor kindness.

Thank you for yor replyes i got a few from the USA i showed my son where they comme from and instently tolled me that he wanted to go see them...I fond some pictures of US fire trucks and he was goeing bananas...So i told him to learn is english and we will go visite a USA fire hall...

How and where can i get big city patch like NY,Boston,Baltimore ( my sons favorite) Chigago... The city one and all the other ones like NY i know they have like Bronks Queens......How do i know they are real.? How many are there??

We were advised by the Department of Homeland Security to curtail trading patches or uniform elements with people we don't know or who are unaffiliated with a fire/ems organization.

So, we no longer honor anonymous or "out of the blue" requests.

it is great to trade patches,i did it with firefighters on another website and it was great to have the patches of different fire departments in the USA.but sometimes you send patch and then got nothing ,and that is why maybe some people do not want to trade patches anymore.

Im no firefighter but i volunter as support for victime and give out drinks and food to firefighters (www.apam.net) In Columbus Oh they are called box club 15... We do the same here on the south shore of Montreal...
i would not be a greath firefighter im scared of hights.....

I rememberd i recieved a patch once, from the Bulldogs in Yonkers, Ny.
I sewed it on to my Mets jersey as a reminder to me, that I can be happy with my fav team on my back and my dream job on my shoulder.
