I live in Michigan and am ceritified fire 1 and 2 and plan on moving to AZ. at the end of april. How do I go about getting certified in AZ.? Do I have to "start all over again"? Can I test out? Anyone with info to help I would like imput.

Are your cert's from Michigan certified by IFSAC? If they are you are good to go. If not, you will have to take the FF I & II class here in AZ. It's two semesters long.

I would agree with the above answer about the IFSAC but I did just get hired in AZ and I am originally from MI and recieved my certs in MI @ Schoolcraft College. I asked before i took any test with them if my I and II would transfer and they told me it would be at the fire marshals descretion. The recruitment/Human Resources people should be able to let you know what their procedure is.

It is up to the receiving jurisdiction to decide whether or not you need to be certified. There is no state requirement to be certified.
If your certification is IFSAC you may challenge the written test and skills stations. If you do not pass the first time you must retake the classes.
