Hey guys,

I'm new to the site. Forgive my elementary questions in advance, but I am currently employed as a design engineer. I desperately want to be a full time firefighter in Louisville, but see that they are not hiring currently. Does anyone have any ideas on where to start or have any direct contacts? I have the dedication, drive and physical fitness to succeed. Many thanks in advance.

They actually just finished the recruitment process. The new academy begins in march. I believe it will be about two years - potentially one - before they recruit again.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Apply at every place that has a paid department. There are quite a few in the other parts of louisville, they pay quite well also.
