I took an add out years ago in firehouse magazine to swap shoulder patches. with-in 2 months I had a collection of 300. Over the years my collection grew and today they are proudly displayed at our firefighters club, the hose and hydrant. I was a little reluctant to donate them, but i figured this way more people can enjoy them.

My job is my kids so by default my biggest hobby is our horse (see the avatar)! LOL! I also write and try to create something resembling art whenever possible. LOL! Photography is something I'm just getting into. Snowboarding (I used to race so usually a few runs through the gates makes my day), fly fishing (though I broke my rod. caught it on the dog run while practicing. But at least it wasn't the old hook in the head again. ), gardening, working on our hundred year old house, cooking, reading Tolkien (not enough).
As far as movies: By far, my favorite is the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Music: Some of everything, really. As my husband says, anything from Strawberry Shortcake to death metal. Depends on the mood. Right this minute it's "Say It Right" by Nelly Furtado. Who knows what's next on the playlist! LOL!
As for the beer drinkers, I'm with you there! Any chance I get! LOL! Though with three kids, those are few and far between! LOL! I also like wine, love Tequila and Jagermeister. Love Bailey's. I've got a good liquor cabinet. :D
I guess my biggest hobby is the horse and my two daughters. My oldest was 2006 Leadline Champion so it's a huge time committment. My younger daughter is going in this coming summer with her eye on the same title as the oldest moves up in competition. We go up every day so Big Girl can ride and I try to get Little Girl up there to ride at least once a week. Plus we go up for grooming and all that. I have a video online of my oldest working on her first jumps if anyone's interested! LOL!
Okay, I've bored you long enough!

Golf (poorly), trout fishing (pretty good I must say), travel (the wife and I love Nashville (been the last 3 years.) Just got back from a week in the Music City area myself. I couldn't find a gig as a Bass Guitar player, so I came back to put out more Fires instead......:D :D :D We have a son and daughter-in-law who live about 20 minutes SE of Nashville (Wilson County) and that, along with a love for country music, gets us down there as much as we can.

And part time work... but I never get enough sleep like i wanted to. For the first two years... I did nothing part time. So I would get off work and sleep all day.... and repeat the next. Now... I seem to never get enough sleep.
What days I do get off I somehow end up working overtime.....
but that isnt too much of a bad thing

When I get time, I also have twin girls (5), I like to Golf (not good at all), and go to the gun range. I'm a pretty big gun nut. My boss says it's my addiction, which can be more expensive than drugs. Here lately we've been thinking about buying and selling houses. Not sure about that one yet.

For now, golf and photography. Im not very good at the first, but have been told Im quite good with the second. People that see my work cant belive Ive never had any formal training, or that I use a rather low-tech camera. :o
Once the kids are out of the house (within about 3 years) Im going to take over one their bedrooms and get back into my first love which is building models. My favorite has always been ships although I do have some very nice fire apparatus models waiting for me in the closet.

"Travel, shooting..."
Am I the only one who caught that?
"Did I mention Tractor Pulling"
You mean they have that over here? I thought it was a Eastern Shore sport back home..
Let's see, I'm blessed with a beautiful wife and daughter, so I'm usually fixing something, driving something, putting something in shopping cart, looking at clothes, putting something in a van...
Aside from work, I'm into painting (firefighting scenes, hunting/waterfowl scenes, equestrian scenes), shooting (smallbore four position, largebore long range matches, and a little bit of black powder shooting), horses and horseback riding, writing, reading (military history), the Boston Red Sox (now holding out for a World Series in my daughter's lifetime), baseball cards, Boston Fire Department, fire photography, camping, the beach, being outdoors. I also like tutoring at my daughter's school, and as a family we volunteer with a theraputic riding program for kids and adults.
...fix dinner, let the dog out, dust, take overdue video back, let dog in, cut grass, going to ballet lessons, shovel the driveway, helping out at church....
I tell friends, I have a wife and daughter, my dog is a girl, the cat is a girl, and the only other male in the family is a gelding...

I ride a donkey.
And as if that's not weird enough, I have recently gotten sucked into my sweetheart's hobby - he does 11th century historical reenactment. Yup, I spent a good portion of the last two weeks sewing tunics and such for a big "war" we're driving to in Arizona tomorrow - thousands of people in tunics, armor, and all... activities ranging from weaving to glass blowing to battling with polearms or swords, jousting, etc. And beer, lots of beer.

Buying and remodeling houses, then renting them out. Any thing my kids are into-I have 5 right now. I just bought a house with 8 1/2 acres, so there is more room for the 4-wheeler. I want to dig a pond and stock it so I don't have to leave my house to go fishing every day. I love to karaoke, but I don't get out of the house by myself too much, and I don't care to find a babysitter for some of the kids. Mowing-no I don't have a tractor, landscaping and planting flowers.
