Hey guys,

I just got my first personal leather helmet, a Cairns Sam Houston N6A. I believe this one was one of the ones that was fitted. It obviously has gone through some use, as you can tell with the color, and especially the interior of the helmet...

I can't really tell how it's secured in there, and I don't know too much about the helmets... is it possible to change that out, and easily? I think this helmet can definitely use a new interior lining. I will be more than happy to provide pictures if need be.

Thanks!

There should be an "M" or "L" stamped on the inside of the dome...large or medium...This is the size of the liner you will need. thefirestore.com has them among other places. The brass ring around the helmet must be carefully bent up. This holds the liner in. If you order the liner you will get the idea of how it is held in by the ring. Or, you could send it to Cairns or Signal50.com to replace the liner for you. This will probably be better if you don't want to risk screwing something up.
