We all did stupid things as teenagers, but these kids are out to prove Darwin was right:

Stupidity reigns supreme.
The sad part is that some bleeding heart will feel sorry for him.
I hope it hurt enough to make him smarter. Somehow, I doubt that though. :(

What I found incredible, aside from the fact that he did it in the first place, was that at no point in time did he think to "drop and roll".

Man, that just makes me sick to my stomach. I hope the lad isn't too badly injured. Kids are supposed to do stupid things, as parents we can only hope that they don't have to pay for it too dearly.

If you do a search on youtube.com (www.youtube.com) for gasoline fire, you would see all types of idiots.
The current trend is to do something stupid (part of growing up), record it and then post it on the Internet. Last year, we caught three kids starting fires in town and posting them on their myspace web site. They not only identified themselves but gave detailed information as to where they were lighting the fires. Sample transcript: Hi, this is Bob (closeup on Bob's face) with Steve and Jim (again with closeups). We are in the playground at ABC school (zoom in on school name on side of the building) and today we are making Molotov cocktails.
The Fire Marshal met with the kids and their parents. Of course the kids denied any such video existed (they had already deleted them from myspace). Imagine their surprise when the FM popped a CD in the computer with the videos I downloaded from their page. :p

Sigh... I dunno. I chuckled.... and then I shook my head. What a WASTE of perfectly good SNOW!
Actually when I saw them pour the gas on the railway tie, all I could think was "Hey, that stuff is soaked in creosote...." :(

You might be suprised to notice just how many folks don't remember this lifesaving trick. Stop, Drop, and Roll has been around forever, but people either panic, or slept thru it in school. While we're on this subject, I'm putting the finishing touches on my new program for Nursing Home residents. It's patterened after Stop, Drop, and Roll, but as a gesture toward the Seniors that will be learning from it, I'm calling it Stoop, Droop, and Poop........

Exactly what I thought when I looked at it.
Now do I want the kid to get hurt, especially burns being as permanent as they are? NO
Does he deserve it, yeah.
Natural selection is probably the best phrase for this.
What part of gasoline on my jeans and jumping over fire adds up to OK in someone's head?
I have to blame the parents for reproducing.

I think it is crazy that all his "friends" are just standing around laughing. They didn't even think to have any water or anything handy. What the hell were they expecting to come of this? I did stupid **** when I was in high school, but I never set my friends on fire.

Somehow,I don't think it was his idea in the first place. The one that thought of it needs to be removed from the gene pool just as badly. But,I think they'll be the ones that the girls just looooove to death.
I'm not especially worried about these clowns looking after me in a nursing home.I fully intend to die in bed at home between two 20 something women after being shot by their jealous husbands. What bothers me is 60-70 years from now, these will be the people tottering around the nursing homes yelling"Whatinhell is THAT yer listenin' too?WHAT?No,you oughta listen to 50 Cent!3 Six Mafia! Now THAT'S music!" and roll off in the chair singing'It hard out here for a (coff coff-wheeeeeze)pimp".

Standing on a viaduct and peeing on a train as it goes under you is a stupid prank.
Using gasoline in any prank is bound to have ugly consequences.
I can't believe that his friends didn't pee on him to put him out.
That would have been the perfect exclamation point to this cinematic turd.

Naw; just like alcohol, you got to go after whomever gave them the gasoline!
Blame this one on YouTube or Johnny Knoxville. Can't blame the kids; they are too easily influenced.
And thanks to the lawyers, everything has a price.

Oh and we should be looking for legislation that will require cotton in bluejeans to be more fire resistant.
And a disclaimer on gas canisters that says "pouring this on anything and lighting it can result in serious injury and relentless public ridicule".

He is another example of how not to use gasoline. Have we as a profession failed to get the message out that gasoline is dangerous? Or has general intelligence dropped so low that this seemed like a good idea to someone?
