I know what y'all are thinking: Holy Molasses in Winter, Batman. only 129 awards for Round 7?!

Same thing I thought. But, whatcha gonna do but wait.

I just realized that I haven't done my nerd thing lately and post the numbers:

Thru R7

1893 total awards for $193,893,738

1462 Ops & Safety for $116,576,997 out of $362,800,000 (Fire & EMS)
432 Vehicles for $77,316,741 out of $136,200,000 available (Fire & EMS)

So we're at less than half of the Equipment, just over half of the Vehicles announced. Lots of dough to go.

I'll have more nerd fun later when I run the state breakdown. I have to modify the Excel file and upload it into the database. :)

Only had 1 for a Kansas department in round 7 but on the bright side - it's one more than we had in round 6.

I know it's cold, snowy, sleeting and miserable down your area (nice and warm here on the East Coast 70 degrees :) ) so we won't hold it against you for the brain freeze. :D If my addition holds true there are 1894 awards to date. ;)

Molasses in winter, I'm beginning to wonder if any one is alive over there. At this pace it could take another 12 rounds to complete the awards.

Time to get ready for the overnight Xmas party w/the wife. No kids...yahooooooo. Bring on the beer.

Yeah, off by 1 on the total. I was doing it by scrolling the spreadsheet and counting the Tooltip text. Must have grabbed the same one twice.

Wow, 7 rounds to almost equal round 1 in 2005. Man we chugging right along. I will stick with me estimate of 2008 to get these out.

2008 might be a bit optimistic.

10-Q, didn't think anything came out the other day. Nothing at all this week from what I can tell, so hopefully more notifications soon. We're only 3 months out from 2007 opening, better have Plan A, B, & C together. A - awarded, B - denied same project, C - denied different project. Everyone not denied or pending at this point made it past the computer so have to decide if you get denied if improvements can be made to the narrative or if the computer score held you back. Enough to get into Peer, not enough to overcome the situation.

Still hard to believe how skewed a few states are as compared to all the others. Population not a factor , number of department not a factor. I wonder why some states get up to 3 times the other states averages.

I just wonder sometimes

Look at the app stats document they put out. Last 2 pages are always the count by state along with request amounts.

The only big anomale I can find so far is Alabama with taking 50 trucks in Round 1. But lots of needs there, and could just be that everone went truck because they got their PPE, SCBA and other equipment in previous years.

FL is way down from what I remember in other years.

PA, NY, TX, & IL are almost always 1 thru 4 in apps submitted, and law of averages about the same in awards also.

Could not believe FL myself, seems like everyone went to sleep down here for 06 AFG. Alaska was interesting, both of their two awards are from students from my seminar in Anchorage last year. ;)

That's good news for us then as it will be the first time we made it past the computer...still checking every day for that Update 1199 link...no joy so far :(
