Hi, my name is Nick, and I'm an LPN in TN. I currently work on a neuro floor at a large hospital in Nashville, but I want to get into emergency work. I am just in the looking stages for EMT programs in and around the state, so I will probably be asking lots of questions on the forums here.

If you're looking into getting into EMS in middle TN, the following have EMT programs:

Columbia (Columbia TN)
Vol State (Gallatin TN)
MTSU (Murfreesboro TN)

I went through the MTSU program back in 2001. It was longer because the classes were held only two nights a week, but the instructors are very thorough. I heard they're now doing two classes a year instead of one, so the hours may vary. They have a moderate drop-out rate, but those that make it till the end pass the NREMT exam.

Columbia has an excellent program or at least it used to. Before they went to full time instructors. The part timers were THE BEST!!!
