OK Chicago has mailed out their test results lets hear what you have to say.

according to the newspaper

20400 took the test, of which 49 percent white, 26 black, and 21 hispanic.

17000 pass, 54% white, 21, black, and 20 hispanic.

which means the passing rate for whites was 91%
hispanics 79%
blacks 67%

I live in Boston and took the exam in May. You guys just heard yesterday? I have heard nothing yet.

Yeah I drove em nutso by calling and firing off e-mails. BUt who cares they are already bitchin about it being racist and sexist. Cant win for trying you know.

Yeah I passed. I think the city did the list this way so they can pick and choose who they want to call. Unlike the 95 list which was also a lottery but using your ss#. It was also handled by an outside agency.

I live in Kansas and haven't heard anything yet, but oh well.

There was nothing to that test...I took tougher ones in middle school. I almost feel sorry for the CFD.

the randomly assigned number you got, is that the order that they are going to call people? or is your randomly assigned number then used in the lottery?

from my understanding the random number is your number used in the lottery.

What the sad part is the test was on a 9th grade level, but you need a high school diploma or a GED(umm that's a min. of 12th grade) and pepole still failed.

well know I know i have at least a 9th grade education :rolleyes: ;)
That wasn't insulting. :p

What it was is during the last teat some pepole were complaining that the FD was only hiring white males. So making the test more simple would give more chances for pepole to pass. Nevermind thinking about who mainley applies for this job are white mails. I'm just diapointed that they do this lotery system instead of how well one does on the exams. Honestly i think it's more insulting to think that they needed to make a test more simple to have a larger group of ethnic diversity. Being of a different ethnic background doesn't make ones inteligence higher or lower. It's an individuals desire to study and learn or be lazy and take it easy. speaking of which I think i need to work on my spelling again. :o
