DOG ALERT ***
Dog, Leland and Tim Chapman were taken into custody by U.S. Marshals early Thursday morning in connection with charges stemming from their 2003 arrest of convicted serial rapist, Andrew Luster.
Andrew Luster, the famed heir to the Max Factor cosmetics fortune, was convicted of drugging and raping three women over a four year span. During his trial in 2003, Luster fled the country to Mexico.
In June 2003, Dog and his team tracked the fugitive Luster in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he was living under an alias, and arrested him. As bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, Dog, Tim and Leland were arrested by the Mexican authorities and Luster was handed over to the United States government by the Mexicans. He was subsequently found guilty and is currently serving a 124 year prison sentence.
Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, and Dog, Tim and Leland were arrested by the Mexican authorities. After being released on bail, Dog, his family and team, returned to Hawaii and to their lives as bounty hunters.
Yesterday at 6:00am, U.S. Marshals stormed Dogs home and took him into custody. They then did the same to Leland and Tim. The three are being held in Honolulu where they will face an extradition hearing to Mexico. There will be a hearing in Hawaii today at 3:00pm local time. At that point we will have more details to share with you.
This was from myspace.com. I enjoy watching Dog and his exploits. Sure he is cheesey and kind of a nut, but I am disapointed our government is planning to turn him over to the Mexicans. After all he DID capture this scumbag Luster. I think the Mexicans should worry about other things as well.

I just enjoy the irony of a Bounty Hunter who skipped Bail.
It is funny irony, unlike a firefighter busted for arson.

That is ultimate irony.
However He should have known the laws & limitations. If what he did there is illegal, then he is like every other Tom, Dick or Harry in Mexico.

Ironic yes, right no. He did what the Mexican government (or even the U.S.)couldnt or wouldnt do. I am curious to the reason that this is taking place now. If it was your daughter, sister or mother that was a victim of Luster I think any one of us would support the Dog. Plus his wife is a hottie ! :p

don't get me wrong, his show is a cornfest, but he was able to bring this scumbag back. Can't we tell mexico to f'off and if they don't like it to piss off? I mean really, what are they going to do, invade? Cub scout troop 114 from abeline texas has enough firepower to repel most of mexico.
Remember the alamo senior!!

From what I have heard from the news is that there is a 3 year statute of limitations in Mexico and it was almost up. So whats going to happen is he will get some big lawyer to drag it out past the 3 year mark and stop him from being sent to Mexico.

Dog is deffinately over the top. Even more over the top, is his hair. Still the show is entertaining and to go from selling drugs in his youth to doing what he does now, well, thats just impressive.

Isn't Dog a convicted felon? Didn't he spend time in a Texas prison for his part in a murder? He meet his wife when he bailed her out of jail. Now yes he's made a turn around but he still crosses the line.
But why should the U.S. cooperate with Mexico. If Mexico had cooperated with the U.S. in the first place. Dog would never had to go down there and capture the guy.

*** DOG ALERT ***
Here is the latest update on the Dog situation from Honolulu. Dog, Leland
and Tim were all released on Friday night on bail, as the judge concluded
they are not flight risks. While out on bail, they will be required to
remain in the state and wear electronic monitoring devices until they return
to court for extradition hearings to face trial in Mexico. No date has been
set for those hearings, and we will continue to update you as more details
become available.
Hear Dog and Beth tell the full story in their own words on Tuesday at
10PM/ET exclusively on A&E's original presentation - DOG: THE FAMILY SPEAKS.
The special features post-release interviews and behind-the-scenes footage
from the trying ordeal. Additionally, tune in to NBCs Today Show on Monday
morning to see Dog and Beth interviewed live by Matt Lauer.
Thank you to all of the Dog fans for your continued support.

For those interested, here is his bio from A&E's page:
Considered the greatest bounty hunter in the world, Duane "Dog" Chapman has made more than 6,000 captures in his 27-year career. This highly intense, charismatic ex-con and born-again Christian is the king of the comebacks. This modern-day hero once served time in a Texas prison. "I am what rehabilitation stands for," Dog says.
Now on the right side of the law, Dog is tireless in his efforts to bring in the bad guys and encourage them to turn their lives around. Over the years, the list of fugitives Dog claims to have either helped catch or single-handedly brought to justice reads like a who's who of America's most wanted, including high-profile rapist and Max Factor heir, Andrew Luster.
Dog credits much of his success to his knack for getting the most out of his informants. "Seventy percent of all my captures happen because some good ol' American has turned them in by giving me information," he says.
Raised in Denver, Dog is the oldest of four children born to Wesley and Barbara Chapman. His dad was a welder in the U.S. Navy, while his mother was a minister with the First Assembly of God who often traveled to Native American reservations to teach the gospel. Dog currently resides in Hawaii with his wife and business partner, Beth Smith, and three of his children.
"When you break someone down make sure you always raise them up higher than they were before." -- a Dogism

From Wikipedia: :D
A mullet is a haircut that is short in the front, on the top, and on the sides, but long in the back. Mullets have been worn by males and females of all ages, but they have traditionally been most popular with younger men. A slogan or motto often associated with people who wear mullets is: "Business up front, party in the back!", which originated from the older phrase: "All business in the front, and a party in the rear."[citation needed]
There are many nicknames for the mullet. Some are:
The "7"
The "10-90"
The Achy Breaky Big Mistakey
The Ape Drape
The Tennessee Waterfall
The Beaver Paddle
The Business in the Front, and Party in the Back
The Camaro Crash Helmet
The El Camino Headrest
The Kentucky Waterfall
The Canadian Passport
With that being said, I'm glad Dog caught that scumbag. Maybe if Mexico did their job, he wouldn't have had to go in there. If it wasn't a high profile case, I doubt that the Mexican government would have even cared.

When Mexico stops the migration of their own populace illegally across our border, and stops giving them official documentation on how to tap into our social networks, then we can cooperate with them.
Until then, a .50 calibre every 200 feet and no warnings.
And no legal cooperation.

I've always looked at that show like I do my favorite hunting shows:video footage of the actual shot spliced in with footage of a re-enacted stalk where they whisper loud enough for the micrphones to pick up what they are saying.
Look at it in that vein and it'll take added or maybe different meaning.

man oh man, is that the truth! the SECOND they get across the border, fill 'em up with lead!! AND dont clean up the bodies, that way when the piles get big and smelly, the mexicans will turn around and go back where they belong!

In my point of view which isn't held highly. To me it's like going to a call and rescuing someone and having them saying you kidnapped them from their home when you were just doing your job.

Ol' Dog may or not be the brightest bulb. I think he is no dummy but I don't know his IQ. He grabbed a maniacal, sadistic RAPIST back to face American justice. He didnt bring over a kilo of coke or some smuggled aliens. Sure we laugh at his goofy hair, the way he prays and then yells out a hearty M-f'er when busting one of the model citizens that appear on the show. But he also knows that he is a showman and has that " I am loving life and know I am sometimes full of ****" look. I can respect that. I cannot believe our government is going out of its way to kiss Mexico's ass....Which all this little charade is.
