We are working with a manufacturer of the FRED911's. Their website is www.fred911.com. The device dials 911 and is basically a phone unit with a remote that dials 911. We have been working on getting local area fire departments to look at it as a possible fundraiser. A Skokie, IL firefighter actually called and told us about the product and said that they had tested the device.

I am looking for others out in the field that have worked with it or heard about FRED911. I know that almost all of the 911 call centers use different systems for the enhanced 911 and we are interested in finding out if anyone knows about a generic type of form that we could let people fill out and get back to their 911 call center for people who have health concerns and would like to give the fire department and the police more information to work with when 911 is alerted.

Thanks for your help.

Our local hospital uses a system for the elderly. It has a little device that every so many hours does a "check-in" and if the resident does not check in, it alerts the hospital, which in turn notifies our local 911 center (our local sheriff's department). I am not too familiar with this device. I have heard of the little pendants that the homeowner carried on their wrist, or around their neck, but not anything like this. Let me know if you come up with any info, could be something of interest to us.
