Howdy, I am not an EMT, but am educating myself on the subject. It seems like it is easier to become an EMT than a Peace Officer (in the sense of starting a career, in no way do I thank y'all's job can be done by just anyone).
Hopefully I can learn a little more about the profession.
Stay safe.

If you are looking for an easy job, EMS is not it. There is nothing easy here, the training is long and hard at times, the patients difficult as well as complex. It looks cool on T.V. but there is alot more to it. I can also tell you that being a cop is not a roll in the park either. Do lots of research before you make your decision.

Trust me I am by no means going into a field cause of the latest episode of 3rd Watch. Hollywood has over glamorized any civil service career (just thank everyones going to want to be a Hostage Negotiator after they watch a few episodes of the show on Fox). Hence why I stated I want to educate myself.
Whether one chooses Cop, EMT, FF, etc its going to be a hard venture. After all if we wanted an easy job we'd have put in that application to McDonalds and made "lead fry coook" right?

It shows in your nick that you are not a native born Texan, but welcome anyway.
p.s. Us Texans are always poking fun at everyone else. Yeah, I know, it's a curse!!!
