Hello all just talked to the police and fire board They said application's will be out in three weeks. They are getting the ads ready for the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times.. No collage, age 23 no EMT or Medic stuff....
No residency
Later PKR

there also looking for people with fire exp...like 5-10 years on the job...my source told me its easier hiring knowledgeable people..than training from the beginning

this sucks I am 21 I have been through FF2 academy, hazmat ops, EMT and several other classes but I cant apply, that blows

23-5=18. Not everybody requires age 21 to start. It's a big world out there.

I am very sorry to all that I have not replied. I was in the IAFF convention until Friday night. Please contact the Cicero Town Goverment to obtain applications. As Union Preident I encourage all to apply. Our local does not discriminate against anyone. All sexes, races, and ages are encoraged to apply. Local 717 has no influence on the rules and regulations of the hiring process. But let me assure you if hired you will become part of our Union family regardless of gender, race or age. I have been searching for whomever posted the deragatory remarkes with no success. Disregard the stupid and ignorant postings made by that individual.

I assume whomever posted the "stupid and ignorant" remarks have already editted them out of their post?
I would like to think that the criteria for getting a job in Cicero would not be in violation of certain guaranteed rights and be non-discriminatory.
Like Cicero can afford more lawsuits. :rolleyes:

The union does not admimister the test. I can only hope the town administers a fair test. I wish the Union would be consulted on hiring processes, but we are not. I suspose that has something to do with the over two dozen greivences and several unfair labor practices we have filed.
All our local wants is equality, fairness, and uniformity.
