Just a quick question- someone may know the answer or have been in this situation.
I am planning on taking the next test. My father was a firefighter for NYFD. He had a heart attack while working - that they deemed was caused by smoke. He was forced to retire, but lived only a few years longer.
I was wondering if I would be eligible for the additional points or is that reserved strictly for those who have passed away on the job- and not because of it.
I tired to call the 718-999-FDNY number. They said they would have to try and find out. I was just wondering if anyone happen to know already.
Thanks for your help.
