Are you a Sports Freak? If so, why?

I ask this because I grew up playing sports, was a Bat Boy for the California Angels and over the last 10+, I kinda grew out of watching over-paid athletes running up and down a field. Perfect example- Barry Bonds- A cheater that uses drugs to obtain a batting record...Get the f*ck out of here!

I always knew I was going to be a Firefighter and respected Cops and Firefighters for their jobs. Also, screwing at a large screen TV in a Sports Bar got old too. And I just love to chase the ladys in my more adult years.

So, please dont be offended, its just my opinion. What do you think?

I was heavy into baseball until the 1981 strike. I've only watched about 10 games since.

I was a huge sports freak until the game became more about money than about sport - not just baseball, but all sports. The only thrilling part of basketball is the last two minutes of the game. Plus, I can't deal with all the &*$#@ commercials that now seem to occur in between each play in some sports. The last five minutes of a football game can last more than a half hour... It's changed for the players, too. As a coach, how do you motivate someone that's locked in to earn $100 million over the next ten years? Only a handful of veterans are playing at their maximum level...

I still enjoy watching a NY Giants football game and I followed the NJ Devils closely this last post-season. However, I honestly wouldn't miss it much if it went away.

Not to get off on a tagent, but riddle me this: Has anyone changed their favorite brand of beer because of the 50 commercials you saw during a game???

No. Because if I can't play, I don't care. I can't play Major League Baseball, so I could care less about it. I am pretty good at driving a car in circles, real fast, so I like NASCAR. Bou, by chance, are you and MiniMe a Tag Team in Wrestling?? Jello Wrestling maybe?? :D :D :D

As for Mini-Me and myself, we are only in the talking phase of our therapy right now. Some day we might be able to be friends, but right now, we both still see the Head Doc.

yes i am a sports freak. I love sports, all areas of it. I love the game planning that goes into a game. the chess match between two coaches when they are leading their teams. I belive their is no better sound than a bats crack when it hits a ball, the sound of someone skating on an ice rink, and the sound of a golf ball clanking into the bottom of the cup.
Am i mad about barry bonds and him taking the juice, no, because their are just as many pitchers on it also.
Everyone complains on how much money they are making, hell dont be mad at them just because they have a talent that only a few people on the planet can do. Besides, if the owners keep shelling out the big $$$$, you would be a fool to not try to maximize your earning. if they offer 100 million, ask for 110 and just see what they say. maybe that owner will pay it.
