I'm currently a "fire explorer" and I have my AHA BLS for HCP and a Red Cross standard first aid...what more can I do, i'm going to be a senior in high school and would like to have a lot under my belt. EMT-B is out of my reach for now (conflicting school schedule)...what other courses would you all, as professionals in the EMS, recommend for me (other "first responder" 'medical' courses)?
thanks!

Well NREMT-FR (first responder course) or NREMT-B (EMT Basic course) would be the most prudent choice for expanding your EMS horizons, if schedules with school is an issue look for a summer course that you can do over your break. you can also look at becoming an instructor for BCLS for the HCP and First Aid/CPR instructor. call your local AHA and Red Cross for the dates of these courses in your area
Good luck

as a high school student a good solid back ground in biology, chemistry, and math will build a solid foundation for your future plans. Once you are done with high school, or you become old enough enroll in an EMT-b class. after high school I would strongly recomend either a fire science, or an EMS degree program.

In addition to what everyone else has said, you may try a BTLS course.
