Does anyone know if the State Forestry Service or anyone else offers any classes on basic wildland/brush firefighting tactics? Please post here or e-mail me @ sta224ffemt@comcast.net. Thanks!

I believe that the N.W.C.G. does have the type of training and materials you are lookin' for. N.W.C.G. =s National Wildland Coordinating Group, I believe..... I know that the U.S. Forest Service and the B.L.M. use this as their basics. Many Departments large and small use this curriculum as well. If you need any other info. just lemme know and I will try to gather more info. We have a N.W.C.G. instructor in our Department that I can gather info from. Also, since this is a National Government Group, the materials are fairly inexpensive.....

Your best bet is to contact your local forest fire headquarters which for south jersey is
Division C Headquarters
5555 Atlantic Avenue
Mays Landing, NJ 08330
Phone: (609) 625-1121
The basic classes needed for NJ are the S130/S190 courses. They will tell you when the classes are and what is needed to be involved.
