On Thursday an early morning blaze claimed the lives of two women and three children in the Wayne County community of Honesdale.
The cause was not immediately known but it is believed that the home had no working smoke detectors, prompting local fire officials and news media to once again stress the importance of smoke detectors and their continued upkeep.
Late thursday firefighters from that department were undergoing counciling to deal with the effects of the terrible task they had been called on to perform that morning. Our prayers go out to the families of the victims and to our brothers who had to deal with the tragedy.
