joining the american fire service

Hi my name is jon i have been a firefighter for the last 6 years for somerset fire and rescue service. me and my girlfriend are looking to move over to america and it would be wonderfull if i could continue the job that i love so much. all i need is some infomation on how i go about it eg the entry requirements, do a lot of people apply, all that stuff

also would people get funny if a english firefighter came across and joined the service.

The first step is to check the requirements of the area you want to move to. A lot of U.S. Fire Departments require applicants to be U.S. Citizens.
