When everybody is hurting for good medics, why make it harder to hire? Right now the market is in favor of the medics, every city needs them.

There was a class of medic which they dropped the pre-hire residency requirement. It would be noted in this application process if it was so. Its not noted, means you need to be in the city 1 year prior to hire.
Cold day in hell before the city completely removes the residency requirements.
I hear talk of chase car medic units, if thats interesting to anybody.

Lets all celebrate!! We got like 15 to apply!!! That should provide a big fat class of 8 medics.
Too bad were short 50 or so.

Wow! 15 is more than I expected.....Let's see, City resident certified as a paramedic with paid professional experience. That just about rules out everyone in the City, except those who are already in the PFD. Hell, they might as well have made that a requirement too....

Total from personnel is 40 applications. 15 was the week total.

I'm even more shocked then. My guess is with 40 apps, probably about 25-30 will make it through to getting on the street. That should just about replace the medics who are crossing over to the fire side. Back to square one....

Responder cars would be intersting, are they usually run with a single medic or would they have a partner? I say they take all the cars from the water department and use those to save money!
