Well for my firehouse, you need to be atleast 16 years old to run on any kind of call, from 14 and 15 you are a Cadet, then 16-18 you are a Junior Member, and 18 and above, you are a Senior Member, also you need to be with the firedepartment for 9 months on probation, and complete the PreBasic Fire or EMS, and also complete a CPR Class also for Fire and EMS, and when you complete that at the end of your Probation Period, you become a Active Cadet/Junior/ or Senior Member.

Does the State of Maryland allow 16 year olds to fight fire, and extricate victims at accidents. Can you peform the same duties like any other firefighter or EMT that is over the age of 18? That is ae they allowed to enter burning buildings and are they allowed to perform duties as an EMT?

Rockville Fire Department (Montgomery Station 3) allows you to be 16+ and E3 if you've done all your training.
